Most of the people live their lives by watching and leading a life similar to movies. Everybody is eager to know the best technologies and imagine their life if this tech exists in their life too and also may take some advice from these movies. Here are some of the best tech movies that are best to watch.

1.    Tron

This is a 1982 science fiction action-adventure film. The film was directed by Steven Lisberger from a story by Lisberger. The film starred Jeff Bridges as a computer programmer. The storyline of the film is how Jeff Bridges gets sucked into the world of computers and tries to escape from there by communicating with the computer world. At last, he manages to get refrained from this computer world and go back to the normal world by using his knowledge. This results to be the best movie to watch for the programmers and others as it guides us to apply our tech skills in different situations.

2.    The Imitation Game

This is a 2014 historical drama film. This movie was helmed by Morten Tyldum and penned by Graham Moore. The story is based on the 1983 biograpon by Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges. This movie is about the invention of the world’s very first computer by Alan Turing and his team.

The movie ends by showing Alan and his team arise with a way to decode the German Enigma Code. This is also one of the best tech movies.  

3.    The social network

This is a movie released back in 2010.  This is a movie which talks about how Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg which is quite the story.  It is a bit of a movie that really gives you the essence of what it’s like to create a Startup.  It shows how Mark Zuckerberg started off at University with this idea for Facebook and his journey how he had created it. 

The stories about how Facebook grew from a single University to all over the world and the struggles he faced.  People even tried to sue him for ownership of his company. 

4.    Antitrust

This is a 2001 techno-thriller film. The film is helmed by Peter Howitt. This movie depicts the dirty side of the software world and this movie is best recommended. The storyline is about some of the ideal programmers employed in a corporation company providing a considerable salary and informal working environment. One of the young talented programmers gets the job in the organization and later finds out that something is wrong there.

This programmer then utilizes his tech skills and finds out the problem. This movie is an all-time favorite for the tech lovers as it depicts the best way of using your tech knowledge.

5.    The social dilemma

This is a recent movie released in 2020.  It depicts the social impact that social media is having on us as a society.  This movie is an actual scary thing to really be concerned about as there are a lot of factors to grab our attention and keep it for as long as possible. Social media  sites like Tik Tok, Instagram or any other platforms which always tries to make sure that you’re staying on there as long as possible and you have less attention for regular life. This movie is a real eye opener for society today.

6.    Hackers 

This is a 1995 film directed by Iain Softley and starring Jonny Lee Miller. The usage of the internet was not famous back then when the movie was released. Hackers show how some high school students utilize their knowledge in tech for corporate extortion. The movie was a masterpiece and got mixed reviews from critics but it was very booming for programmers and security enthusiasts.

7.    The Pirates of Silicon Valley

This is a 1999 biographical drama film. It was directed by Martyn Burke. The film had an excellent cast of Noah Wyle as Steve Jobs and Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates. This film depicts the successful story of the great software companies “Apple” and “Microsoft”. The vital theme of the movie is how the founder of “Apple”, Steve Jobs, and the founder of “Microsoft”, Bill Gates developed the idea of personal computing which can be used by everyone.

8.    The Internship

This is a 2013 comedy film. This movie is directed by Shawn Levy, and penned by Vince Vaughn. The cast includes Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson and many others.

The storyline of the movie is of them being invited to join the google internship at Google’s Headquarters in Mountain View California where they compete with the younger group of people who are tech genius and skilled. This is the movie which shows the fact that age doesn’t matter if you are passionate. For those who think that they are too old for learning technical stuff this movie is best recommended.

9.    Ex Machina

This is a 2014 science fiction psychological thriller film. This film was directed by Alex Garland. We can see a lot of applications of technology like artificial intelligence on mankind to have a better life. The storyline of the movie revolves around the programmer who is invited by his CEO to an intelligent humanoid robot. It mainly shows the hurdles faced by the programmers in the software world and the harmful effects on society if this technology is not used properly.

10. Prometheus

The sci-fi film introduces a selection of wondrous gadgets. Directed by Ridley Scott starring Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba and includes other great cast. In this movie there is a group of people who are scientists and explorers who are going too far away places and spaces and they are hoping to find the beings that originated human life.

Ridley Scott in a science fiction world go hand in hand. It has excellent film framing and the special effects are extraordinary.
